Food Drive organized by the Tyler Family:
Got your Northview Fandana!? Simple! Be one of the first 500 students at the Northview-Alpharetta Homecoming football game on Friday, October 31 - bring 4 undamaged canned goods - exchange them for a one-of-a-kind Northview "fandana" to wear at the game and other Northview events! The Northview Atlanta Food Bank Club is holding the first ever food drive in conjunction with a home football game to raise awareness about food insecurity in the North Fulton area and to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank's efforts in assisting families in the area.
A special arrangement has been made for the Northview Varsity Football Team to participate in this simple effort! On the morning of Thursday, October 30, before regular practice, between 6:45 am and 7:00 am, at the football team locker room, football team members will be encouraged to bring their own 4 cans of food and exhange for their own fandanas! Be part of the Team! Do something good! And look good!
This week will be our annual Chili Cook-Off Contest. Email Brad Henn at
to let him know you will be entering the contest, and he will send you two tailgate tickets to attend and eat that evening. Those who want to eat at the tailgate but not bring an entry can purchase tickets as usual on our website. The Gridiron Club will provide all of the usual chili toppings—cheese, sour cream, etc. There will be a prize for the best entry as voted on by all of the tailgaters. We are going to begin early again this week at 5:30 to allow for the Homecoming festivities and more time for TRUNK OR TREAT (see below). Winners of the Jets Pizza Student Tailgate Competition will be announced.
TRUNK OR TREAT!
We are going to open our roped off section of the parking lot for anyone who would like to participate in the Northview Gridiron Club TRUNK OR TREAT. Torn between trick-or-treating and coming to the game? This is the solution! Participants can email Brad Henn at
for a special parking pass to one of the FREE parking spots (for participants only). Participants should plan to: bring your candy to pass out and a table (or pass out candy straight from the car) as the trick or treaters work their way through the lot. TRUNK OR TREAT participants need to arrive early so that we can make sure all the cars are in place before kids are trying to walk through the area. Plan to arrive between 5:15 and 5:30. Please forward this to people in your neighborhood, youth organizations, school distribution lists, etc. We are hoping that this can increase attendance for our game for Halloween night!
Film will be at 7pm as usual at the office of James Westbrook Engineering. All parents are invited to attend and bring food or beverages if you desire.
Do not forget to sign up to volunteer for shifts for this game. There are a couple of freshman parents who have not yet worked parking— you need to sign up this week if you have not done it yet. Sophomore, Junior and Senior parents can sign up for pre game meal, setting up or tearing down the tailgate, or some of the booth jobs, or to feed the coaches on Sunday, November 2 (hint: sign up with a couple of other parents and share the prep of the meal!)
