Chad Davenport

Head Coach / Quarterbacks

Coach Davenport enters his 17th year of high school coaching including 16 years at the varsity level.  Coach Davenport got his start in 1995 at D.H. Conley High School in Greenville N.C. and coached JV Offensive Line.  After 1 year there, he spent the next 10 years at his alma mater, East Wake High School, in Wendell, N.C.  At East Wake High he spent time coaching all the offensive positions.  Coach Davenport was the offensive coordinator for the JV team from 1998 to 2002 and from 2004 to 2005. He also was the head JV coach in 1998 and 1999.  He coordinated the varsity offense from 2001 to 2003.  In 2002 East Wake had their best season ever at 14-1.  The offense averaged 33 points a game and scored over 50 points on 4 occasions.  During those 3 years East Wake's record was 28-10. 

In 2006, Coach made the move to Peachtree Ridge High School where he coached quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs.  He was the head JV coach for 3 years and spent the 2009 season as the head 9th grade coach.  During his 4 years there the Lions were state champs in 2006, region champs and state runner up in 2008, and state quarter finalist in 2009.

Coach Davenport is very excited about Northview football and is dedicated to making Northview a program of EXCELLENCE!  He is a graduation coach at Northview.

Coach Davenport has been married to his wife Karen since 1996 and they have 3 wonderful children, Jackson 11, Joseph 9, and Lydia 6.

 

Bo Lumpkin

Assistant Head Coach / Defensive Coordinator / Outside Linebackers

Coach Lumpkin has coached at Peachtree Ridge High School for the past 6 years.  During his time there the Lions were state champs in 2006, region champs and state runner up in 2008, and state quarter finalist in 2009. He served as the defensive coordinator in 2004, JV defensive coordinator from 2006 to 2009 and head JV coach in 2009.  Prior to coaching at Peachtree Ridge Coach Lumpkin was the defensive coordinator at Franklin County High School and Habersham Central High School.

GARY McCOY
Defensive Line Coach / JV/Freshman Defensive Coordinator

Coach McCoy will be entering his 5th season on the Northview Staff. Prior to joining the Northview staff, Coach McCoy was the Head Coach at North Springs High School and an assistant at Flannigan High School and Dillard High School both in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Coach McCoy played his collegiate football at North Carolina A&T State University where he was a 4 year letterman, 3 year starter, HBCU All American and 1AA All American Honorable mention. Coach McCoy is married to Verneeta McCoy and they have one son Denzel who will play football this fall for Georgia Tech.

 

K. D. Dunn
Offensive Line Coach / Run Game Coordinator

Coach KD Dunn is from Decatur Georgia where he was an all sports athlete at Gordon High School. He worked hard in class and on the field and earned a football scholarship to Clemson University where he was a proud member of the 1981 National Championship team! He also earned All-American and All-ACC honors during his four year tenure. Coach Dunn played seven years professionally with varies teams including the Tampa Bay Bucs, Washington Redskins, New York Jets, and Montreal Machines. After retirement Coach Dunn began coaching football which he has now enjoyed doing for 17 years. He has coached at a number of schools including Redan High School, Morris Brown College, Washington High School, Mays High School, Creekside High School (where he coached Eric Berry who was the 5th pick in the 2010 NFL draft), and Alpharetta High School. Coach Dunn teaches at River Trail Middle School and enjoys building the minds of young people.  This past summer he earned his Specialist in Education Leadership Degree. Coach Dunn is single, enjoys traveling and sports activities, and is an avid golfer!

 

Jamie D. Brown

Defensive Backs Coach

Coach Brown is entering his 6th year at Northview where he has coached Basketball and football, while enjoying his career as a professional school counselor. This year he is excited to return to coaching the Titan secondary after taking a two year hiatus to pursue a Ph.D. in Counselor Education.  Coach Brown is entering his 12th year of coaching which has given him the opportunity to work with athletes at George WF McMechen High School in Baltimore, Maryland, Howard High School in Ellicott City, Maryland, and prior to coming to Northview he was the head 9th grade coach for the basketball and football teams at Roswell High School.

Collegiately Coach Brown played in the secondary at West Virginia University for Coach Don Nehlen, where he was a part of the Big East Champion team that played the University of Florida in the Sugar Bowl, and the University of South Carolina in the Carquest Bowl. Coach Brown is married to Niccolla Brown and they have two children, Micaela and Javian

Mike Dixon

Running Backs Coach / JV/Freshman Offensive Coordinator

Northview Football welcomes back Coach Dixon who has previously coached football at Northview.  Coach Dixon brings over 21 years of athletic coaching experience to the Northview coaching staff. He has led teams in football, basketball, baseball and fast pitch softball at various levels in addition to working individual and team camps. At Northview, Coach Dixon teaches American Government and World History as well as coaching Varsity Baseball and JV Basketball.

Prior to coming to Northview, Coach Dixon spent four years at North Springs High School. At North Springs, he was the Varsity Basketball assistant coach, was head coach for the Spartan Fast-Pitch Softball program for two years, and spent three years as the Junior Varsity Baseball head coach.

Coach Dixon is an alumnus of Fulton County Schools, graduating from Crestwood High School, and received his undergraduate degree in Social Science Education from Georgia State University. Coach Dixon currently lives in Roswell and is single.

 

 

Gerald "Boo" Mitchell

Wide Receivers Coach / Passing Game Coordinator

Coach Mitchell played for Vanderbilt University where he was as an All American receiver and still holds the records for season and career receiving yardage.  This was followed by time in the NFL.  Coach Mitchell has coached at Berkmar and Peachtree Ridge where the Lions were state champs in 2006, region champs and state runner up in 2008, and state quarter finalists in 2009.  Coach Mitchell is the owner of The Factory, a premier sports performance training facility in Lawrenceville.

 

Tom Kratowicz

Freshman Offensive Line Coach

Northview welcomes Coach Kratowicz who is currently in his second year of coaching.  He has previously coached the 9th grade offensive line at Dacula High.  Coach Kratowicz teaches Life Science at St. John Neumann Regional Catholic School in Gwinnett County.  He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in Science Education and is completing his Master’s Degree in Science Education from Georgia State University.
